About Us

Upper Soothill Islamic Centre

Since opening three years ago, the Upper Soothill Islamic Centre, formerly the "Babes in the Wood" pub, has become a vital part of our community. We welcome everyone to visit our Masjid and contribute with their kind duas and generous donations. Your support is essential for the continuation of our ongoing works and projects.

Whoever builds a Masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.

Local residents identified a critical need and initiated the project immediately upon acquiring the property. Plans were made to renovate the second floor to generate income for the masjid's operational expenses.

Planning Approval Secured. Planning permission was granted following a year-long application process. Funding for the renovations was obtained through interest-free loans (Qarze Hasana) and charitable donations (Lillah). A small children's Islamic school (maktab) was established.

2024

Prayer Facilities Approaching Completion. The main prayer area, including adequate ablution (wudhu) facilities, is nearing completion. The masjid has begun offering five daily prayers, Friday sermons (Jummah), and Ramadan night prayers (Taraweeh).
